Drug & Alcohol Policy
Eliscota traffic management has a zero resilience to Drugs & Alcohol. That is why we carry out random Oral Drug/Alcohol Tests on sight. Operatives who fail or decline a test will be suspended for 28days.
After 28 days, the operative is asked to take another drug & alcohol test. If operative passes then work can recommence with us but if the test is failed again then the operative will be withdrawn from our records and can no longer work for us at Eliscota Traffic management. The reason behind such strong action is if you take drug or alcohol on site, not only will you be putting yourself at risk but you are endangering the lives of the Public. Please read and sign the attached Policy on the Misuse of Alcohol & Drugs.
PPE (Protective Personal Equipment)
Personal protective equipment Kit includes:- A Safety Footwear, Hi-Visibility Jackets/Vests/T-shirts, Gloves, Glasses, Hard hats (this is a minimum customary)
A Head-torch is obligatory for working at night time — All PPE kit must be seen on operatives irrespective of what those around you are doing. Occasionally clients will supply you with their PPE, this should be worn for the duration of the Contract & returned promptly.
Full PPE kit must always be worn including to and from site, anyone caught not doing this will no longer be able to work for us as you would not be upholding our professional standard.
PPE kit can be bought from our office Details of prices are below. PPE must be paid for prior to it being handed over to you.
Dress Code
Representatives of ELISCOTA Traffic management stand as our ambassadors when out on site, besides wearing PPE we expect you to dress accordingly.
NO bare chests, NO bad language towards members of the public.
A clean image is important for proper accordance.

What to do if late or ill?
If for any reason you are late or have fallen ill, you are to inform us ahead so we could log it to avoid disappointing a client. Constant lateness may result in us not offering you work.
However, should you fall ill, inform us in advance via phone call or email to inform the client. Keeping in constant contact could safeguard your position. If you fail to inform us of your condition, we might make the decision to replace you. This could result in you not working until another assignment becomes available

Holiday
We ask that you give two weeks’ notice for holiday
Site Induction
Prior to commencing a new assignment, the client will give you a site induction. This will ensure you know what is being asked of you.
Whilst on site you are the responsibility of the Client. They all have their own rules & regulations. YOU MUST adhere to these regulations to ensure your safety and the safety of others whilst on site...
If you feel there are any breaches of Health & Safety, then please do report them to us via phone call or email. We are not on site with you and cannot address situations for you directly, we advise you record and make complaints to avoid health and safety risk. All such claims though can be made verbally but must be backed up in writing before any action can be taken, inclusive of dates/times etc....
Eliscota Traffic management carry out Random Operative sites checks to ensure that our standards on site are met and those operatives are conforming to PPE Standards
Payment of Wages
You will receive your wages weekly.
They are paid a week in arrears and the week runs from Monday-Sunday.
There is an admin charged per week of £12.50 and we operate under CIS so tax will be deducted.
Each month you will be sent a CIS Subcontractor Statement
You must provide us with a UTR number as without this you will be taxed 30%.
Safety at Street works & Road works
Before YOU start — General
Before you start — High visibility clothing is to be worn by everyone on site. All signs, barriers, cones and lighting are to be correctly placed. No signs is to be obscured by bends, hills or dips in the road. The site is to be safe at night or in wind, fog, snow or rain. Parked vehicles, trees, street furniture are not to be obscuring signs? There is to be enough road width remaining for two-way traffic. Traffic control with shuttle lane working is required. There are special guarding requiring for specific risks. Has allowance been made for delivery and removal of material? Is the contact number displayed on the information board? Are advanced signs needed?
Before YOU start — Pedestrians
Are pedestrians given protected routes which are wide enough? Are pedestrian routes clearly indicated? If the footway is closed, is there an alternative route? If so, is it clearly marked? Are there any special hazards for disabled pedestrians? If so, how can they be made safe? If a temporary footway in the road is to be used, are ramps to the kerb provided where necessary?
Before YOU start — Traffic
Has any misleading permanent signs and road markings been covered? Is there safe access to adjacent premises? Have you a copy of portable traffic signs site approval? Have you considered the needs of cyclists and horse riders?
When work is in progress
Does signing and guarding meet changing conditions? Are signs, cones and lamps kept clean? Can traffic control arrangements be improved to reduce traffic delays as conditions change? Are the carriageway and footway being kept clear of mud and surplus equipment? Are materials that are left on verges or lay-bys being properly guarded and lit?
When work is suspended
Will checks be made on signing, lighting & guarding? Has the arrangement been changed to reflect conditions?
When work is finished
Have all signs, cones, barriers and lamps been removed? Have any covered permanent signs been restored? Have the authorities been told the work is complete?
